Analyse how mise-en-scene is used in the extract to create meaning.

·      DI wearing a suit à dominance and higher position in society
·      Nathan’s character in wheelchair à weak, vulnerable and less capable to do anything. Represents those in society who are less fortunate.
·      Ryan and Jake wearing police officer outfits à highlight their job in society, their superiority and represents the police.
·      Bruises, dirt, damaged clothing on Nathan à represents his vulnerable state and lower class.

Analyse how far the extract is stereotypical to gender.

Mother character à Female and represented as extremely emotional(Stereotypical as females are represented as weak and unstable)
     
Ryan à He is a male, police officer and has dominance not only in society but over  Jake who is new to the force.
